Christoflurp's twenty-third day on intermission.

Saturday June 17th - 4:46PM

I've been doing my best to have some kind of spontaneous adventure while I'm downtown, and it's been mostly successful, although I wish I had done more (I'm about ready to tattoo this on my head). Yesterday I went on a walk in the morning to grab a latte and something for lunch, which I ate back at the hotel. I did spend a little bit of time at a park finishing my Coffee Island latte before heading to Not Just Noodles for a lunch dish. Neither were exceptional, but sitting on the bench at the park solo gave me some nice moments of introspection, and what I'm calling main character feelings. I walked down to the area we were meant to spend most of our evening early to savour more of those experiences and ended up at The Ballroom and Gabby's, taking in a single drink at each.

Derail: I've been quite clear about my intent to not drink with such regularity these days, but in situations of sunshine, outside, and beer, I'll accept that I'm a hypocrite.

The remainder of the night was a great one with tacos and margaritas at La Carnitas followed by beers and mini-putt at Par-Tee Putt. We closed out the evening around 230-3 from Saint John's Tavern, also drinking beers. Conversations, laughs, and tender moments were shared, and (I believe) good times were had by all.

Bringing me around to about 2PM today when I finally mustered up the energy to leave my bed. I got ready for the day, went on a couple km walk and eventually found myself at a fancy-ish Italian restaurant named Trattoria Mercatto in the Eaton's Centre where I consumed a pepperoni pizza and an amber ale.

And here we are. Plans for tonight involve meeting for drinks at a brewery, and then attending a Second City show. Looking forward to each.
